Program

'Interstellar Jukebox' is a bass clarinet quartet because there is something very wrong with me. It is the second piece in collaboration with the J4MN quartet and was commissioned by Sophie Kass for her GPD recital at Boston Conservatory. There is an element of humor in this music that I don't usually explore in other more serious concert works. It is more energetic and playful, sort reveling in the silliness that comes with getting 4 bass clarinets together.
The work imagines what alien music would sound like, if it somehow were able to be transmitted to us here on earth.
