Program

'daydreamer, scratching at surfaces' is a violin duet that was commissioned by Sharan Leventhal for her studio recital in 2016. This is actually the first of two pieces written for Sharan, who has been such an incredible collaborator. The music thaws. It begins cold and still, until the main ideas begin to emerge. The two violins chase after the recurring musical ideas, just like the daydreamer, desperately trying to find the answers.
